A mobile service of the latest technology, equal to or superior to what was found miles away in the larger cities, was born from the fact that patients, anywhere, deserved the best technology available. Vantage became the first Pennsylvania organization in the region to have a “mobile” MRI that would go to smaller, rural hospitals and provide this high-tech service to patients.
Patients do not need to travel for service, the service can travel to the patient.
Since the first service was introduced, Vantage added mobile Lithotripsy technology. Lithotripsy is a non-invasive treatment for kidney stones. It uses concentrated shock waves generated outside the body, to break up the stones into small pieces that can be eliminated from the body normally. Lithotripsy was found to be gentler on the patient leading to a quick recovery since there was no hospitalization.
These mobile services are cost-effective as the facility pays for only the days of service that are scheduled eliminating the fixed costs for the technology.
Today Vantage has expanded its mobile services and includes Positron Emission Tomography (PET) along with Computer Tomography (CT) and other diagnostic technology.
